“Lawrence Tech’s 2002 Formula
SAE team drove off with the inaugural Road & Track
Triathlon trophy. The Road & Track magazine’s
November 2002 issue featured the winners and highlights
the car’s design and performance. Modeled after
Road and Track’s ultimate test of sports cars’
power and handling, the Triathlon links slalom, skidpad,
and acceleration in one continuous exercise. The 350-ft.
slalom had seven gates spaced 50 feet apart; the skidpad
was 100-ft in diameter, and there was a 0-60-0 course.
Each team was allowed three trials to complete the three
events within a 15-minute period.” - Road &
